Our Team
Cora Breniman
For more than 20 years, I have worked as a wilderness ministry guide, guiding whitewater rafting, backpacking, and rock-climbing adventures. I have had the honor of being alongside individuals as they step out of their comfort zone into the challenge zone; whether that was on a five-day backpacking trip, going down class 4 rapids or rappelling over a cliff for the first time. I love seeing people push the limits of what they believe is possible.
When I left guiding full-time, I found a great home in special education. I met so many amazing individuals who longed to run hard after adventure. I developed and ran a recreation program at Victory Academy in Sherwood, Oregon, geared toward helping students take steps outside of their comfort zones. Our activities for students of all abilities ranged from nature walks to hikes, rock climbing to swimming, biking to kayaking adventures, first-time overnight camps, and more.
I started Adventure Ready NW in 2020 with the desire to help more individuals find what they love to do, to come alongside them, and help them be as independent as possible in pursuing their passion. After marrying in 2022, my husband, Aaron, came alongside me to further Adventure Ready NW
You will hear me talk a lot about the dignity of risk. That means that we all have the right to try…fail…and get back up and do it again.
Life is meant to be a great and daring adventure - Adventure Ready NW helps you live life to the full! Email Cora.
Aaron Breniman
For the past 20 years, I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery to live at the confluence of purpose, meaning & impact. It’s been a long & winding path with careers in journalism, higher education, non-profit marketing & communications, freelance writing, and business consulting in operations, systems and marketing.
I’ve been a restaurateur, Search & Rescue volunteer, EMT, wilderness skills instructor, golf course shop jockey, and worked for the state’s golf association and more along the way.
Since leaving behind full-time employment in June 2025, I now support Cora with Adventure Ready NW in many ways, seen & unseen, including cooking, driving, packing, shopping, organizational & partnership outreach efforts and do some other gig work as well.
It’s a joy to get to do what we do - challenging and rewarding, mostly outdoors in wild places across the region. If interested, you can read more about me here & some of what i write here. Email Aaron.
