Location: LL Stub Stewart State Park

Whether you're hiking, biking, paddling, or camping far from civilization, the unexpected can happen. This Wilderness First Aid course follows the full American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) curriculum and is designed specifically for outdoor adventurers who want to be prepared to handle medical emergencies in remote settings.

Through hands-on practice, scenario-based learning, and interactive instruction, you’ll learn to:

  • Assess and respond to common wilderness injuries and illnesses

  • Manage shock, fractures, sprains, burns, bites, and environmental emergencies

  • Make evacuation decisions and use improvised first aid tools

  • Communicate effectively with rescue personnel

  • Prioritize care when help is delayed and resources are limited

This course goes beyond basic first aid by emphasizing extended care, creative problem-solving, and realistic backcountry scenarios. It's perfect for backpackers, climbers, educators, guides, trail runners, or anyone who ventures into the wild.

Please note: This course uses the standard ASHI curriculum and is not adapted. For those needing a more accessible learning environment, check out our Spring Adapted First Aid & CPR class, designed for varied learning styles and support needs.
